We are pleased to announce the  

Ontario High Performance Computing Summer School - East 

jointly organized by the Ontario HPC Consortia (HPCVL, SciNet, SHARCNET) and The University of Ottawa.

This event will take place at the

University of Ottawa, May 28-31, 2013

Desmarais Building, 55 Laurier Ave East, Ottawa

This 4-day series of workshops will cover a variety of high-performance computing related subjects, such as Introductions to OpenMP, MPI, Posix Thread programming, CUDA programming of GPUs and more. Courses will be offered in a split-stream format. The timing of the Summer School was chosen directly before the HPCS 2013, Canada's foremost Supercomputing Conference, which takes place June 2-6, 2013 at the University of Ottawa.

  • Introduction to High-performance Computing
  • Distributed memory programming with MPI
  • Shared memory programming with OpenMP
  • Combined approaches
  • Programming GPUs with CUDA
  • Using the HPCVL Working Template
  • Programming Posix Threads

Please note: Seating is limited. We will send out reminders to those registered before the event and re-assign unconfirmed spots. Please make sure that you attend if you have registered. If you register and do not attend, you are denying a spot to your peers.

 

Important: Most of the workshops have a hands-on lab component that will be conducted on servers supplied by the HPC consortia. Since the lecture rooms do not provide desktop computers, please bring your laptop if you want to participate in the exercises.
